Sometimes, when you least expect it, you can have a psychic experience that can have a marked effect on your life.

This happened to Brian Moore at the beginning of his legal career. He thought he had frightened off the would-be assailant of two young women one night, on his way home after a 'victory dinner' with his colleagues. Apparently it had not happened.
