She traveled back and forth across the country, living in New Jersey, Virginia, Michigan, Massachusetts and California while married to a radio talk show host. After divorcing in 2001, she earned an associate's degree in Criminal Justice\/Law Enforcement with a 4.0 GPA, and was named in the National Dean's List. Flerx is currently working toward a bachelor's degree and beyond. While training at the Sacramento Police Academy, an injury ended her aspirations of becoming a police officer. Theresa currently lives in West Virginia where she worked for several years as a reporter for the West Virginia Daily News. Winner of the 2006 Best Photography News Award from the West Virginia Press Association Better Newspaper Contest.
